SRINAGAR, Nov 14: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Children's Day emphasized empowering young minds and steering them away from drugs and disillusionment.
On Children's Day our hearts are with the children and youth of Jammu & Kashmir, who have endured decades of conflict and uncertainty", Mehbooba posted on X on Thursday.
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister has also uploaded a selfie taken with the children on her X handle.
"Their dreams have often been overshadowed by strife and lost opportunities", she said and added "In recent years, flawed recruitment policies and rampant scams have further shaken their faith in institutions, leaving their future hanging in the balance".
The PDP leader said "As one of India's youngest states, we have an urgent duty to empower and nurture these young minds, steering them away from despair, drugs, and disillusionment".
"Our commitment is to rebuild trust, so they find hope and purpose within the democratic framework not beyond it", Mehbooba added. |
