Father-in-Law accused of rape arrested in Pounichak

Jammu, Nov 14: In a recent incident in the Pounichak area of Jammu, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a 63-year-old man accused of raping his daughter-in-law. The accused, identified as Gurnam Singh, son of Pritam Singh, is a resident of Ranjitpura Camp Gole Gujral, Jammu, and a former Sarpanch.
The incident came to light after the victim filed a written complaint at the Pounichak Police Post, detailing the alleged crime.
Acting promptly on the complaint, police registered an FIR and initiated an investigation. After an extensive search, police successfully apprehended the accused, who had reportedly been absconding since the complaint was filed.
The swift action taken by the police has been widely appreciated by the local community, who praised the authorities for their immediate response in arresting the accused. Police officials have confirmed that further investigations are underway to gather additional evidence and bring clarity to the case.
