| PDP candidate files nomination papers for Udhampur LS seat | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Apr 01- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat Thakur Balbir Singh today filed his nomination papers in presence of large number of his supporters and party workers. Singh was taken a big process before filing the nomination papers. Addressing his supporters and party workers, Balbir Singh said that PDP has carved out a path of development and peace in Jammu and Kashmir so it is need of the hour to strengthen his party for establishing lasting peace and accelerating developmental activities in the State. Highlighting the achievements of the three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, he asked the people to compare tenure of PDP led government with the successive regimes of National Conference in the State. “Only PDP leadership has the vision to solve problems of people”, he said and pointed out it was only during the regime of Sayeed that equal treatment was given to all regions and sub-regions. He said that PDP has pioneered a political and economic agenda to fulfill wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Establishing sustainable peace and to consolidate reconciliation process is on the top of the party’s agenda”, he said and expressed satisfaction that during a short period of just three years, PDP, through its visionary policies, has established peace with dignity and honour. Speaking on the occasion, Sayed Asgar Ali, MLC cautioned the people against vicious campaign launched by some vested interests against the party. He reminded that people it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed many programs and policies were formulated for the development of Jammu region. “PDP led regime removed discrimination of Jammu region”, he said and called upon the people to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti. A K Sawhney, District president Kathua, Surinder Singh, district president Udhampur Sukhdev Sharma, Akthar Ali, Vinod Gupta, Kirpal Singh, Vinod Gupta and other senior leaders of the party were present during the occasion.
