GO's Refresher Course concludes at SKPA, Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Nov 16: The two-week "GO's Refresher Course" organized by the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, concluded today with a valediction ceremony. The course, which began on October 3, 2024, was attended by 21 Deputy Superintendents of Police (Dy. SsP) and was designed to enhance their skills in managing sub-divisions and sub-units effectively.
The program aimed to familiarize participants with the critical role of supervisory officers in law enforcement, focusing on topics such as terrorism threat mitigation, border security, tunnels, drones, and the latest investigation techniques. A distinguished panel of guest speakers, including Dr. Ekta Manhas from the Department of National Security Studies, Central University of Jammu, Dr. Savita Nayyar from the Department of Law, University of Jammu, and Dr. Kavita Suri, Former Director of the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu, provided in-depth insights on various subjects. Other experts included Dr. Shalini Sharma, Member of the Juvenile Justice Board Jammu, Sh. Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, JKPS, and faculty from the Cyber Police Station Jammu, including Shri Nayeem Abass Hamdani, a Cyber Consultant. The valedictory function was attended by Shri Rajesh Bali, IPS, SSP, Deputy Director of SKPA, who was the chief guest. In his address, Shri Bali emphasized the importance of building trust between senior officers and their subordinates. He highlighted the need for supervisory officers to be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment and to continually update their skills, especially in dealing with emerging challenges such as law and order, terrorism, narcotics, and cybercrime. Bali expressed confidence that the officers who participated in the course would implement the valuable knowledge gained to improve policing and handle complex issues more effectively. The course was coordinated by Rakesh Sambyal, CPO, with assistance from ASI Dhian Singh and the faculty of SKPA.
