| Vikram's ‘Haadsa Haqeeqat’ creates history on state theatricals; bags 7 awards | | | Early Times Report Jammu Apr 01- Reliving the glory of Jammu theatricals once again to its pristine splendor, Viraat Socio Cultural Society, striking maiden entry into the Jammu drama festival, swept clean all top awards. The awards announced by Jammu and Kashmir academy of Art, Culture and Languages pertaining to the recently concluded Annual Theatre Competition wherein 11 plays of different languages had participated, the major one were bagged by the Virat Socio Cultural Society that had produced Haadsa Haqeeqat , a Hindi play written by a local writer Vikram Sharma. The play bagged best production, Best Director Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Music, and two Merit Awards that counted to seven going into its kitty. It is pertinent to mention here that a history of sorts were created today when a local playwright’s drama entered into the competition through a newly formed society with no past experience that clinched all the top honors after the judgment was passed today. The play that was an intricate subject involving human psychology facing multi dimensional identities in present concept was highly acclaimed and received by the audience and had all ingredients of a prefect drama into it. Those who played the pivotal roles into it got the top honours with Himanshu Darshan getting best actor award followed by Sapna Soni clinching the best actress. The remaining two actors, Jatinder Dhameer and Neha Bhardwaj were bestowed with merit awards that too created a history for any play getting all awards for all enacting players. Besides, the other significant aspect of the play was that the award for Best Director and Music was clinched by Vikram Sharma, who had written the play himself and was credited for three awards, another historical importance attached to this play on the state panorama. While giving the details of the endeavors of Viraat Socio Cultural Society, the chairman of the Society, Vikram Sharma said that in its further pursuits, the Society would be approaching the State Academy Secretary Zaffar Iqbal Manhas with a proposal for its repeat performance in Chandigarh requesting collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre Patiala, besides demanding a bigger platform for the play and society on the national level.
