| Congress leaders violate Model Code of Conduct, alleges Bhim | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 01- Prof Bhim Chairman JKNPP and party’s candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency has demanded action against several congress leaders for violating model code of conduct. In a communication addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Prof Singh has drawn the attention of the Commission towards violation of code of conduct by Union Minister Saifuddin Soz, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad and Congress candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency, Ch. Lal Singh. Singh in his communication alleged that these Congress leaders and many other leaders and workers of the Congress Party took out a road show on the National Highway near Kathua which resulted in heavy traffic jam for hours together causing great inconvenience to the thousands of commuters, pilgrims and the tourists. He said the EC has already issued clear instructions that every Party shall have to give advance information to the police and local administration and obtain permission from them but in this case the entire Congress leadership did not do so only for the reason that they are in the ruling alliance in the state. The number of vehicles accompanying the leaders and the mob was much beyond the permissible limit of the Commission the communication said adding that it was gross violation of the EC guidelines. The entire highway remained blocked and thousands of pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi and Kashmir were made to wait in stranded positions due to the procession. The Congress leaders and the police both did not allow any other vehicle to cross, the communication added.
