| Opportunistic alliance deliberately evading CMP, says Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 01- Alleging that the opportunistic alliance of the Congress-National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir is evading to have any Common Minimum Program, the BJP Legislators Party leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, has observed that this was because of the conflict between the two on basic issues like that of relationship of the State with rest of India and maintained that both have just joined hands just for enjoying the loaves and fishes of power. Addressing a meeting of the party activists here today, Prof. Gupta said the National Conference in its Election Manifesto has pledged to get restored ‘what they call as Autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir’ by putting the State back to the position of pre-1953, but the Congress being a national level party, can hardly afford this reversal of the integration process. There are similar several other issues on which both these parties had made different promises with the electorates including that of fresh Delimitation of the Assembly constituencies, he added and accused that Congress was never having any clear cut Kashmir policy and its leadership committed bungling for which the entire country, more so, the people of this State, particularly those of Jammu, are faced with numerous problems. Prof Gupta said Congress is a big threat to nationalism and unity of the Country and pointed out that while about three crores of Bengaladeshi infiltrators have been allowed to have citizenship rights just to create vote bank but the refugees from West Pakistan have been denied even the basic citizenship rights in Jammu and Kashmir. So is the plight of the displaced persons from Pak-held areas who had not been granted proprietary rights on whatever small lands were allotted to them. On the contrary Custodian Department has been created to guard the properties of those who had left for Pakistan over 62 years back during the sad days of partition of the country and have got the citizenship of that country. Prof. Gupta termed the Congress a dynastic and dangerous outfit for National unity and integrity of the Country and asked the activists to work for strengthening of the BJP and making party nominees successful.
