JALANDHAR, Nov 20: Lovely Professional University (LPU) hosted an engaging Tech Talk titled "Cyber Shield: The Quick Heal Story," featuring Dr. Sanjay Katkar, Co-founder of Quick Heal Technologies Limited, and Mr. Vishal Kumar, Director of Cyber Education and Services at Quick Heal. Quick Heal Technologies, an Indian multinational leader in cybersecurity solutions, boasts a market capitalisation worth ?3000 Cr+. With a global reputation for its pioneering antivirus and endpoint security products, the company has been at the forefront of protecting digital ecosystems for over three decades. The session emphasized the increasing sophistication of cyber threats and accentuated the urgent need for robust security practices.
In the session, Dr. Sanjay Katkar shared his inspirational journey of building Quick Heal Technologies alongside his brother, Dr. Kailash Katkar. Reflecting on their early days, Dr. Katkar recounted, "Coming from a modest background, my brother sacrificed his education to support mine. Together, we turned obstacles into opportunities." Dr. Katkar detailed their challenges, from navigating existential crises and delayed payments to overcoming skepticism from major distributors. Dr. Katkar shared how the duo tackled issues such as hiring talent within a limited budget and combating product piracy, stating, "Quality was and will always be our guiding principle." This unwavering commitment to quality has propelled Quick Heal to the forefront of India's cybersecurity landscape. Dr. Katkar also highlighted a major milestone in their journey, becoming a cybersecurity partner for ISRO's space missions, including the historic Chandrayaan-3. Dr. Katkar introduced Quick Heal's latest innovation, Antifraud. AI, an AI-driven application that offers proactive protection against fraud patterns, reaffirming their commitment to staying ahead in cybersecurity.
Vishal Kumar's session gave students actionable insights into foundational cybersecurity practices such as frequent password changes, awareness of cybersecurity laws, and caution against social engineering tactics, which exploit users' trust.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU noted, "LPU has trainers from Quick Heal as our training partners and such industrial collaboration underscores LPU's commitment to equipping students with essential cybersecurity-related skills." Dr. Mittal emphasized the importance of passion and dedication, urging students to commit fully to their academic projects, drawing inspiration from Dr. Katkar's entrepreneurial journey.
