11/22/2024 9:47:53 PM

Early Times Report
KATHUA, Nov 22: Acting on directions from DC Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas (IAS), Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Sanjeev Rai Gupta, along with officials from Hiranagar Agriculture Sub Division, visited border areas in the Hiranagar sector to oversee wheat sowing operations for the Rabi 2024-25 season.
During the visit to Chak Changa, Karol Krishna, and Karol Maithrain, CAO Gupta encouraged farmers to cultivate more vacant land along the border and adopt integrated farming and modern machinery to reduce costs and increase agricultural income.
Highlighting efforts from the previous season, Gupta noted that 300 acres of borderland were cultivated by 70 farmers during Rabi 2023-24. The Agriculture Department continues to motivate and assist farmers in expanding cultivated areas this season while ensuring safe and secure farming practices.
