11/22/2024 9:55:09 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 22: CJM Jammu Preet Simran Kour rejected the bail application of one Harpreet Singh who duped innocent people on the pretext of job by impersonating himself as Army Officer.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Police in Nagrota area have arrested one individual who had been running a job scam, duping numerous victims of lakhs of rupees by impersonating as an Army Major. According to police, the accused, Harpreet Singh, who is originally from Akhnoor, and is currently staying at his in-laws' residence in Miran Sahib area, allegedly promised job placements in exchange for hefty sums. The police action followed a complaint from one person, who reported being tricked by the accused by using his fake military credentials to gain trust and deceive him into paying Rs 85 lakh for a job that never materialized.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Preet Simran Kour after hearing APP Vikram Parihar for the UT whereas Advocate BR Chandan for the applicant observed that In the present case, the accused/applicant is accused of cheating complainant and other youths with fraudulent manner and duped their hard earned money on the pretext for providing Govt Job in MES, MOD and DRDO etc and duped amount of Rs 85.00 lakhs of the complainant thereby have caused wrongful gain to himself and corresponding wrongful loss to complainant and other victims. Not only this, he has prepared fake and forged appointment cum joining call letter in favour of complainant showing it as genuine letter of Ministry of Defense with logo, Directorate of Manpower planning and Recruitment Sena Bhawan New Delhi and by vi of that fake appointment cum joining call letter, he has rec
[22/11, 4:55?pm] Pardeep Office: huge amount of money from such gullible persons. At this stage, one cannot take his plea that he was a victim and bread earner of the family, when the material on record prime facie suggests his involvement. The photocopies of admit card for written test advertisement no. ADVT/DR/SS(2) 2021/CEPZ from Military Engineering Services Department, copy of Recruitment MOD, from Ministry of Defence (SENIOR-STENO) under SGO, copy of FORM C verification on candidate by Ministry of Defence, copy of Mode of application through Ministry of Home Affairs,Indian police Services (IPS), copy of call letter to complainant for joining from Ministry of Defence, prime facie indicates that those are fake and forged one. In such a scenario, wherein fake job rackets have become a booming business wherein innocent people are duped every day and in order to unfold many chains of networking of this unscrupulous business of illegal fake appointment orders, there needs to be a thorough investigation which is still going on in this case, in my opinion, granting bail at this stage might hamper the ongoing investigation. As such, in the wake of the severity of crime, the stage of investigation as well as the various aspects as to involvement of some other persons, I am of the considered opinion that the bail application at this stage is premature, hence rejected, Court ordered.
