Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 22: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, District Police Kishtwar has booked a notorious drug peddler under the PSA (PITNDPS) and lodged him in Kot Balwan Jail.
SSP Kishtwar Javaid Iqbal Mir-JKPS, while divulging details, stated that the individual, Mudassar Ahmed S/O Aziz Mohammad, resident of Pakalan Darbhadan Thakrie A/P Wasserkund Kishtwar, was identified as a key figure supplying drugs to the youth in Kishtwar Town. His involvement in multiple drug peddling cases was uncovered during extensive investigations, necessitating his detention under the PSA (PITNDPS) to disrupt his activities and protect the youth of Kishtwar from falling prey to drug addiction.
SSP Kishtwar emphasized that J&K Police in Kishtwar District is proactively implementing a comprehensive strategy to tackle drug abuse. This includes organizing awareness programs across the district, coupled with strict legal actions against drug syndicates. He sent a stern warning to all those involved in drug-related activities, asserting that there is no room for such individuals in Kishtwar. He urged them to return to the mainstream or face stringent legal consequences.
The public is once again requested to report any information related to drug trafficking or consumption by contacting the helpline numbers 9906154100 and 9103454100, or through the Kishtwar Police Facebook page and Twitter handle. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
