CU Jammu's Department of Educational Studies hosts first Alumni Meet

JAMMU, Nov 23: The Department of Educational Studies, Central University of Jammu organized its first Annual Alumni Meet, a heartwarming event that brought together former students, faculty and current students. The event was organized in the benign presence of Prof. Gopalaswami Parthasarathy, Hon'ble Chancellor of CUJ, as Chief Guest and under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, CU Jammu.
Prof. Parthasarathy blessed the graduates for their achievements and congratulated the department for the nostalgic meet. Adding to the commemorative spirit, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of alumni connections and the department's dedication to nurturing a lifelong bond with its graduates. Prof. Jain also congratulated the faculty and the students for their achievements at various platforms of State and National level.
Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, also blessed the event with his presence at the occasion. The event commenced with blessings from Maa Saraswati and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing wisdom and enlightenment. It was followed by a welcome address by Prof. Asit Mantry, Head of the Department. Prof. Mantry welcomed Hon'ble Chancellor and Vice-chancellor of CU Jammu and also shared the Department's future aspirations with the alumni as well as highlighted several recently launched innovative projects. He further extended his best wishes for their future endeavours and commended their professional accomplishments.
Following the welcome address, Prof. J.N. Baliya introduced the formation of the Alumni Association, celebrating this milestone with alumni leaders who shared their experiences and future visions for the association. During the meet, the attending alumni elected the association's panel members. Dr. Seema Rani Thappa was appointed as President, Dr. Pooja Bhagat as Vice President, and Dr. Shivani Sharma as General Secretary. Further, Mr. Chanchal Singh and Ms. Madhu Fakwaria were elected as Joint Secretaries, while Dr. Sneh as well as Mr. Vivek Kumar were appointed as Treasurers of the Association. A special ceremony honoured alumni for their remarkable professional accomplishments, fostering a sense of pride and inspiration among current students and faculty also.
