GDC Majalta hosts Awareness Program

MAJALTA, Nov 23: The Institutional Innovation Council (IIC) of Government Degree College (GDC) Majalta, in collaboration with the Department of Labour and Employment, Jammu and Kashmir, organized a one-day Awareness Program on Mission YUVA - Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and business development among the youth.
The event, held at the college campus, was inaugurated by Ms. Priyanka Gupta, JKAS, Assistant Director of the Department of Employment and Counselling, Udhampur, who provided an in-depth overview of Mission YUVA. She highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in creating job opportunities and the government's efforts to encourage self-employment in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr. Shahid Mushtaq, Assistant Professor at the School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu, served as the key resource person, offering valuable insights on business planning, risk management, operational strategies, and financial planning. His presentation was focused on guiding students in drafting business plans and developing a sustainable approach to entrepreneurship.
Dr. Shalini Sharma, Principal of GDC Majalta, expressed her support for such initiatives, emphasizing how entrepreneurship could lead to economic independence and strengthen local economies. She stressed the need for youth to understand the intricacies of market strategies and financial management.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating, asking insightful questions, and engaging with the resource persons. The event was coordinated by Dr. Chander Mohan and Prof. Naresh Kumar, Convener IIC, who ensured the smooth execution of the program.
