JAMMU, Nov 23: Acting under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police foiled two bovine smuggling bids in the Pounichak area, rescuing 13 animals and seizing two vehicles.
Police teams from Police Post Pounichak and BPP Sandwan intercepted a Mahindra pickup (JK02DH 3344) and a Tata pickup (JK02DL 1094) at Bhagatpur Ghou Manhasan. The drivers abandoned the vehicles and fled under cover of darkness.
Two FIRs, 273/2024 and 274/2024, under Section 223/BNS 11 PCA Act, have been lodged at Domana Police Station. Investigations are ongoing.
