JAMMU, Nov 23: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today presided over the annual day and prize distribution ceremony of RM Public School, Jammu, titled 'Aarangam,' held at the Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Suresh Kumar Gupta, Shailender Singh and Padma Shri S.P. Varma, graced the occasion as guests of honour.
On the occasion, Lakshmi Dutt Shastri, a dedicated educationist, and Jagdish Chandra were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their significant contribution towards the field of education.
In his address, Javed Rana applauded the hard work of the students and praised the theme 'Aarangam.' He acknowledged the role of private educational institutions in providing quality education while calling for expanding reach, accessibility and making it affordable for underprivileged sections of society. He emphasised that fostering a brotherhood environment is crucial for education. He also urged students to plant at least one tree to combat climate change.
Chairman Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi, Director Pushp Vatika, Risheek Mengi, and several guests from affiliated schools attended the event along with parents and patrons.
Director RM Public School, Rakshan Mengi, Vice Principal, Dr. Harvinder Kour and Administrator, Surinder Singh extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries.
