DPS Jammu Shines at Ramakrishna Mission's Youth Convention

JAMMU, Nov 24: Delhi Public School Jammu emerged victorious at the Youth Convention and Prize Distribution Ceremony of Inter-School Events 2024, organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu, at the Vivekananda Auditorium. This prestigious event brought together 27 schools, with over 250 students, teachers, and volunteers participating enthusiastically.
The ceremony was graced by Principal Secretary, School Education Suresh Kumar Gupta(IFS), while Kunwrani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji, Pro-Vice Chairperson, DPS Jammu and Founder of DPS Jammu/Nagbani/Katra was the Guest of Honour, along with other dignitaries including Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission and Sanjay Puri; and distinguished judges Pandit Ashutosh, Ravi Raghuvanshi, Dr. Mukteshi Sharma, Ankush Kesar, Mahua Gupta, Rohit Verma, Dr. Shiv Kumar, and Pankaj Khajuria from Greater Jammu.
The Youth Convention, which was held concurrently with the prize distribution ceremony, featured a series of inspiring talks and workshops by renowned experts in the fields of education, motivation, and personal development. The convention aimed to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to succeed in today's fast-paced and competitive world in view of the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
The inter-school competitions, held last month, included Singing, Painting, and Elocution events, where over 200 students displayed exceptional talent. In the results that were announced today, DPS Jammu proudly clinched the Best School Award for its stellar performance across all categories.
Winners from DPS Jammu are:
Sachika Gupta (XII/E): 3rd Prize in Painting (Group 2)
Parina Kandhari (X/I): 3rd Prize in Elocution (Group 2)
Devangi Sharma (IX/B): 1st Prize in Solo Singing (Group 1)
Aaradhya Sharma (XII/B): 1st Prize in Solo Singing (Group 2)
DPS Jammu was declared the overall winner, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in academics, arts, and co-curricular activities.
In her address, Kunwrani Dr. Ritu Singh Ji highlighted the profound teachings of Swami Ramakrishna Ji and Swami Vivekananda Ji and also praised the Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu for providing a platform for inter school competitions to instil the much needed the value system among the youth. She lauded the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission for empowering the youth through such platforms that merge creativity, values, and Swami Vivekananda's timeless teachings. She also commended the participants and winners for their dedication and urged them to uphold the spirit of excellence in all their pursuits. Encouraging the students present in the gathering, she said "You are the torch bearers of tomorrow. Carry the teachings of Ramakrishna Ji and Swami Vivekananda Ji in everything you do and use them for lighting the path to a brighter, more inclusive and brighter future."
Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, School Education emphasized on the transformative power of education and the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He encouraged students to embrace the values of discipline, resilience, and compassion, highlighting their importance in building a harmonious and progressive society.
Sanjay Puri, Managing Director of P Mark Products and a member of the Managing Committee of Ramakrishna Mission J&K, emphasized on the need for such platforms to cultivate creativity, moral values, and leadership qualities in students, aligning with Swami Vivekananda's vision of empowered and value-driven youth.
Swami Yajnadharananda Ji, in his address highlighted the importance of empowering the younger generation and thanked all schools, participants, and volunteers for their enthusiastic involvement.

The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances by students, followed by a delicious prasad for all attendees.
