| Do justice with student community: ABVP asks JU authorities | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 02- Akhil Bharitya Vedharthi Parished (ABVP) has demanded increase in number of seats of various departments in Jammu University, keeping in view the increased number of students particularly those coming from rural areas of the region. Addressing a press conference here today ABVP state Secretary Suresh Mangotra, said that since last forty years seats in various department were not increased instead number of payment seats have been increased. “We want justice to be done with the JU students at par with National Universities and the criteria adopted by other USG recognized Universities of India” Mangotra said, adding, the increase in number of the students demands more seats for them so that they can peruse for further studies in their respective fields. He said that varsity has fixed 55 percent for entrance test to seek admission in LLM degree course which should be decreased and maintained in accordance with the national universities i.e. 50 percent of the total number of seats”, he added. A large number of students, who are pursuing LLB from different privates Law Colleges, have not been able to seek admission in LLM since there are only fifteen seats and also demanded to increase seats in LLM. Besides, he also appealed for the introduction of new subjects in the campus including journalism.
