Early Times Report

Akhnoor, Nov 25: BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) member Pandit Suresh Sharma inaugurated the work of laying tar on roads in Pateyari Mohalla and Wugtha Maira Mohalla of Panchayat Chawki Chaura, at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. This long-pending demand from locals aims to ease transportation difficulties in the area.
During the inauguration, Suresh Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to connecting villages with paved roads, stating that efforts are ongoing to ensure smooth travel for residents.
He highlighted the major infrastructure developments underway under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including the Jammu-Poonch National Highway and the Chowki Chaura Tunnel project.
Once completed, the tunnel will reduce travel time from Chowki Chaura to Sundarbani to just 15 minutes, a significant convenience for local residents.
Sharma assured that more road projects will soon be implemented in the Block Maira Mandreya and Chawki Chaura, further benefiting the community.
The event was attended by several local dignitaries, including BJP Mandal President Captain BD Sharma, Mandal General Secretary Deep Singh, and others.
