Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 25: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit today paid tribute to the martyrs of the community on Mirpur Day and demanded to fulfill the demands of POJK displaced people and fulfill the promise of return of POK to India.
In the tribute program organized at the party’s state central office, the party leaders and workers present, including state chief Manish Sahni, paid their emotional tribute to the Hindu-Sikhs who lost their lives in the massacre by Pakistani soldiers and tribesmen on November 25, 1947 and expressed full sympathy towards the displaced people.
Sahni said that despite more than seven decades having passed since their exodus, no central or state government has taken care of them and they have been deprived of their legitimate rights. At the same time, the claims of return of POK have also remained confined to mere rhetoric.
Sahni has demanded from the Modi government at the center to release the remaining amount of financial assistance and rehabilitation package for the displaced people of POJK in the ongoing winter session of Lok Sabha, unlock ten seats in their favour out of the seats reserved for POK in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly and fulfill the promise of return of POK to India. Present on the occasion, Mirpur displaced leader and social activities Gugal Gupta paid tribute and demanded special package and reservation in jobs for the youth of POJK. On this occasion Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi , Working President Jai Bharti, President Kanghar Raj Singh , Rohin Manwal , Mangu Ram and many others were present.
