Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 25: MLA Chhamb and Minister in the Omar Abdullah cabinet Satish Sharma advised his arch-political rival and former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand to get settled in Dubai or somewhere else as his (Tara Chand’s) political has ended in the just concluded Assembly elections.
“The just concluded Assembly elections have given a clear message to the many politicians. Elections are an indication that politicians, who used to cheat people, should retire from active politics”, Sharma said.
The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, Science & Technology, and Information Technology, Satish Sharma, was addressing a rally at Chhamb after conducting an extensive tour of the constituency and adjoining areas.
“Political innings of many stalwarts have ended in the Assembly elections. Instead of trying to divide people in the names of castes or creeds, these politicians should be settled in Dubai”, Sharma said without naming former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Cha

Mincing no words in attacking former Deputy Chief Minister, Minister Satish Sharma further alleged that some senior politicians have been patronizing drug traffickers. “We have launched a decisive battle against the menace of drugs in our area. We will not tolerate the spread of this menace in our area. Strict action will be taken against anyone found involved in spoiling the future of our youth”, he said while asking people to single out those responsible for supplying drugs to the youth.
Launching a scathing attack on some political parties for trying to lure voters by distributing liquor during the Assembly elections, Sharma said that thousands of boxes of liquor were distributed to the people and a huge chuck of such boxes were recovered by the alert people. “Is this the way to win the confidence and trust of the people?”, he asked and dared the political parties to first distribute liquor among their family members before distributing the same in the society.
