Secretary DLSA Inspects One Stop Centers and Child Care Homes

RAMBAN, Nov 26: As per NALSA’s annual calendar of activities for the month of November, 2024 and on the directions of Chairman District Legal Services Authority Deepak Sethi, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Priyanka Mahajan on Tuesday visited One Stop Centre, PALASH- Children home for Boys, PARISHA- Children Home for Girls and PHULWARI, home for infants and babies.
Chairperson Children Welfare Committee, Nighat Ghani accompanied the DLSA Secretary in presence of Advocate Hadayat Butt; Superintendents of PALASH & PARISHA, Members of the Juvenile Justice Board, case workers and educators of the one stop centers and PLVs.
The main aim of the inspection was to assess the functioning of the One Stop Centers and to review the facilities provided to the children residing in these help centers. Compliance to legal provisions and standards was also reviewed.
The Secretary DLSA discussed the area of improvements with all the stakeholders so that the lives of the children who are residing in these centers can be improved.
During the inspection, it was revealed that the OSCs have provided various services and facilities to children in the past few months. These services include counseling, legal aid, medical assistance, self-help, etc.
In addition to this, everyone was made aware about the availability of the National Helpline number 181 for women, which provides round the clock support to women in distress and NALSA Helpline number 15100, which also offers assistance to women in need.
District Legal Services Authority and One Stop Centers resolved to work towards the mission of empowering and helping the persons in need especially women victims and providing them with the necessary support to overcome the challenges they face.
