DPEO Kishtwar flags off awareness vehicle

KISHTWAR, Nov 26: In a significant initiative aimed at raising public awareness regarding the Summary Revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll with January 1-2025 as the qualifying date, the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) /Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Tuesday flagged off an informative awareness vehicle under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.
The vehicle is equipped with banners, audio messages, and materials explaining the process, eligibility criteria, and the importance of voter registration.
This initiative aims to ensure that every eligible citizen in the district is informed and empowered to participate in the democratic process.
Addressing the gathering at the flag-off ceremony, the DPEO emphasized the significance of the SVEEP in the electoral roll revision, stating, “This campaign is crucial for ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind. With 01-01-2025 as the qualifying date, we urge all eligible citizens to verify their details, register if not already done.
The awareness vehicle will cover all major areas of the district, including remote and far-flung regions, over the next one month.
Public participation in this initiative is being encouraged, with special focus on first-time voters and marginalized communities.
Special camps will be held at each polling booth on 30th Nov and 1st Dec in the district , wherein VLW, GRS and BLOs will receive the claims ,objection for modification or incorporation of voters credentials, if any.
The flag off Ceremony witnessed the presence of PO ICDS/CEO KDA Rishi Kumar Sharma, Dy. DEO/ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, DIO Kishtwar Dr Kuldeep Kumar, Election NT Kishtwar besides other concerned staff.
