GDC Udhampur celebrates Constitution Day

UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: To upbring the zeal of patriotism and remember the supreme sacrifice of the warriors of freedom, NSS Units of GDC Udhampur participated in the celebration of Constitution day (Samvidhan Divas) Under the theme My Constitution My Pride. The programme was organized in Conference Hall under the Supervision of NSS Programme Officers Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Prof. Sanjeet Singh. Worthy Principal of the college Dr. Sanjay Kumar Verma under whose patronage the event took place, while speaking on the occasion elaborated about the importance of the constitution and its relevance to the society. While speaking he said' It is the constitution which has held all the colours of society together and it is a sacred book which inspires us to lead a life in a democratic system which was obtained by throwing out the totalitarian forces." This college has been an integral part and acting as the role model among all the other colleges of the UT. He applauded the efforts of the college, NSS Unit, the staff both teaching as well as non-teaching and also the volunteers for showing their concern about such topic.
Sumit Kumar, teaching faculty in the department of political sciences held the proceedings of the programme which was followed by a Welcome address and key note address by Prof. Sanjeet. On this occasion Purshotam, Mohit, Shivansh, Ambika, and other volunteers of NSS Unit expressed their views on the occasion. Volunteers of NSS, NCC Units and Students of Undergraduate Programs Participated in the event. The Volunteers took great initiative in the event and in all 50 volunteers were present. Prof.Waqar of Public Administration also expressed his views about consolidation and absorption of constitutional ideas in the social fabric.
