GCW Bhagwati Nagar hosts symposium on Constitution Day

JAMMU, Nov 26: Government College for Women (GCW), Bhagwati Nagar, celebrated Constitution Day with a symposium competition highlighting the importance of the Indian Constitution. The event encouraged students to explore their constitutional rights and duties, fostering greater civic awareness. B.A. and B.Com Semester I students presented on topics such as The Spirit of the Constitution, The Role of Youth in Upholding Constitutional Values, and Significance of Fundamental Rights and Duties. Principal Dr. Meeru Abrol lauded the initiative, stating, "The Constitution is the cornerstone of our democracy, and such events inspire critical engagement with its principles." The jury, including Prof. Gagan Jyoti and Dr. Mosmi Raina, evaluated participants for content depth and originality. Sumriti won the competition, with Tashi and Reebika taking second and third places. Additionally, NSS volunteers joined a Padyatra from GCW Parade to MAM College, flagged off by Sports Minister Satish Sharma. NSS Program Officer Dr. Preeti Salathia praised the students' dedication, while Prof. Nisha Bhagat delivered the vote of thanks, commending the collective efforts of all involved.
