Director Agriculture Jammu reviews progress

JAMMU, Nov 26: Director Agriculture Jammu, Shri Arvinder Singh Reen chaired a review meeting today to assess the physical and financial progress, as well as the expenditure made under various schemes including CSS (Centrally Sponsored Schemes), CAPEX, HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Programme), NABARD, and RAVEX at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Satish Sharma, Joint Director Agriculture (Extension/SLUB), Smt. Priyanka Parihar, Deputy Director (Planning), Shri Vishnu Kant Sharma, Accounts Officer, besides sectoral heads of various schemes under the Agriculture Department. Chief Agriculture Officers from Jammu Division participated in the meeting through a virtual mode (V.C).
During the meeting, Director Agriculture Jammu stressed upon all the officers to expedite the judicious and timely utilization of funds and desired that proper documentation should be done right from pre-execution (Planning) stage for formulation of realistic and comprehensive plans at Panchayat, Block and District level. He highlighted the importance of coordination between the Agriculture Department and allied departments to ensure the efficient and timely execution of developmental works under HADP.
Director Agriculture further directed the officers to submit the pending DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) at an earliest possible so that funds could be released accordingly. The aims, objectives, scope and nature of projects being implemented by the Departments were discussed in detail wherein, Director insisted upon proper identification of beneficiaries and rational allocation of targets for equitable development of all areas.
It was informed during the meeting that most of the allocated funds have been successfully utilized till date, and the balance targets are expected to be met in a timely manner. The meeting concluded with a call for all officers to maintain a high level of efficiency and ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.
