MVD organises Road Safety Awareness Programme

KATHUA, Nov 26: Motor Vehicle Department Kathua organised a programme on road safety at Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua and made the school students aware of traffic rules and also conducted safety alert of school buses.
The programme was organised under the directions of RTO Kathua Pankaj Bhagotra During the programme, ARTO Kathua Shammi Kumar along with MVI Jatinder Chib, MVI Surinder Kumar SMVI Neeraj Kumar and other staff of the department were present on this occasion while school principal and school staff and school bus drivers were also present during the program? During the programme, ARTO Shammi Kumar gave a detailed lecture on road safety rules and appealed to the students to follow traffic rules. He appealed to the students to avoid driving before obtaining the driving license and to avoid overloading in school vans/buses and also cautioned the students against drug abuse and to help those under the influence of drugs by making their parents, teachers and other loved ones aware.
The event was followed by a safety audit of over 25 vehicles inside the school premises. During the audit, each bus was thoroughly inspected, checked for compliance with safety rules like seat belts, emergency exits, first aid kit and overall maintenance of the vehicle. The event was followed by an oath to follow traffic rules from the school students.
