JAMMU, Nov 26: The Directorate of Agriculture Jammu observed Samvidhan Diwas today with the participation of its officers in the campaign 'Hamara Samvidhan-Hamara Swabhiman' at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu. The event was led by Director Agriculture Jammu Shri Arvinder Singh Reen along with Joint Director Agriculture (Extension/SLUB), Shri Satish Sharma, besides sectoral heads, officers, and the staff were present. Agriculture Department staff who collectively took the Samvidhan Diwas Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values and principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
Our country adopted the Constitution, prepared after independence, on November 26, 1949, marking a historic moment in India's democratic journey. The Constitution was subsequently implemented on January 26, 1950. In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, the Government of India has launched a year-long campaign 'Hamara Samvidhan-Hamara Swabhiman' starting from November 26, 2024, to raise public awareness about the Constitution and its significance in shaping India as a sovereign, democratic republic.
Director Agriculture Jammu, S. A.S Reen stressed the importance of constitutional awareness among citizens. He urged all district, block, and Panchayat-level officers across Jammu Division to organize similar programs, encouraging people to read the Constitution's Preamble collectively as part of the ongoing campaign. He further emphasized the need for individuals to embrace the principles of the Constitution in their everyday lives.
Director Agriculture also highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of respect for the Constitution and urged citizens to take pride in the nation's democratic ethos. He called on the officers to continue their efforts in promoting constitutional awareness, ensuring that the fundamental rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution are upheld and respected by all.
