Satish Sharma flags off Constitution Day Padyatra Rally

JAMMU, Nov 26: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), J&K, under the aegis of MY Bharat on Tuesday organized a Padyatra to commemorate the 75th Constitution Day, celebrating the adoption of the Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949.
The rally was flagged off by Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Youth Services & Sports J&K, Satish Sharma, from the Government College for Women Parade and proceeded towards Ambedkar Chowk before culminating at Maulana Azad Memorial College, covering a distance of more than 7 kilometers. Floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and garlanding of his statue were also performed.
Minister Satish Sharma paid rich tributes to B. R. Ambedkar being the chairman of the drafting committee of the Indian Constitution. He said that the committee was successful in drafting the longest written constitution of the world. He said that in the coming days, better facilities will be made available to the youth, sportspersons and students. The minister also urged the youth to stay away from drugs and bring the incidents of drug abuse to the authorities. He further appreciated the efforts of NYKS, MY Bharat, NSS, YSS and the education department in successful holding of the Padyatra. MLA Bhau, Vikram Randhawa, who joined the rally at Gumat, lauded the efforts of NYKS, YSS and other departments in successfully undertaking the padyatra on the occasion of the 75th Constitution Day celebrations.
Director General Youth Services & Sports, J&K Rajinder Singh Tara; Transport Commissioner, Bhawani Rakwal; State Director NYKS, Nisar Ahmed Butt and Principal GCW Parade, Ravinder Kumar Tickoo also participated in the yatra. The rally was attended by more than 1000 participants, including MY Bharat volunteers, students, sportspersons and staff members of the concerned educational institutions.
