Sufiyana engulfs Pulwama
Thousands spell bound audience attend Sufiyana programme in lawns of Central High School

Pulwama, September 22 – The Department of Information and Public Relations Pulwama organized a Sufiyana evening at Government Central School Pulwama which was attended by people from all walks of life and was enjoyed by all the music lovers.
The programme was attended by District Development Commissioner Pulwama Mr. Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, SP Imtiyaz Hussain, Col. Amar, district officers, literary persons of the district, prominent citizens of the district and people in good number.
The art lovers of the area had gathered at the venue of the programme much before the start of the programme and were eagerly waiting to feel the magic of sufiyana music.
The evening started with a prayer seeking blessing of the Almighty and praying for welfare of all and peace in the world.
The cultural group consisting of Mr. Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh and his party from Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages with soft and melodious tune of sufiyana made the people enthralled. The Sufiyana music item by the party filled the whole environment with melody.
The next performance was by Ather Balpuri and party from Department of Information and Public Relations who presented the Sufiyana music in qawali style and won the hearts of the audience. The party presented various items including some gazals. The items presented by the party were so melodious that audience called for more items from the party.
Continuing the colourful melodious atmosphere, two artists Mtr. Masrat and Nusrat added more flavor and gave a brilliant performance.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner, Pulwama congratulated the Department of Information and Public Relations for organizing such a programme. He said that Directorate of Information has done commendable job in reviving Sufiyana Culture which is important component of our civilization in the state. He also lauded the role of Mr. Amar Singh who whole heartedly supported the programme and also sponsored it. He said that Sufiyana is in our rich cultural heritage and there is need for organizing such type of programmes in good number.
