Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: The Music Department of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a quiz competition on the theme "General Applied Theory of Indian Music" at the college campus.
The event, guided by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania, was aimed at enhancing students' understanding of Indian music through practical application of theoretical knowledge. Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of the Music Department, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of such activities.
Dr. Indu Khajuria, In-charge Principal, emphasized the role of such events in bridging the gap between theory and practical learning.
The quiz consisted of 30 questions, with no negative marking, and included three rounds: objective questions, a buzzer round, and a rapid-fire round. Five teams, each consisting of participants from the 1st and 5th semesters, competed in the event.
Team D, led by Isha, emerged as the winners, while Team E and Team C secured second and third positions, respectively. The event was marked by exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm from the participants. Prof. Yash Kumar and Dr. Shallu Jasrotia maintained the score records, while Dr. Mool Raj observed the proceedings. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Yash Kumar. The In-charge Principal later distributed certificates to the participants and winners, encouraging them to continue participating in such events. The event was attended by faculty members, including Dr. Moolraj, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Ms. Anita Sharma, Ms. Surinder Kour, and many enthusiastic students.
