Constitution Day celebrated at SPMR

JAMMU, Nov 27: SPMR College of Commerce organized a vibrant and thoughtful celebration on the occasion of Constitution Day to honor the adoption of the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949. The day was marked with a series of educational activities aimed at raising awareness about the significance of the Constitution and its role in shaping India's democratic framework.
The celebration commenced with the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution by faculty members and students, reaffirming their commitment to the core ideals of the Constitution, including justice, equality, fraternity, and liberty. The principal of the college, Dr. Rajinder Singh, presided over the ceremony and in his message to the students, emphasized the importance of the Constitution in ensuring justice, liberty, and equality for all citizens. He reminded the students and staff of the democratic values upheld by the Constitution, which continue to guide India towards inclusive growth and social harmony.
Later a programme on 4 th Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas was also organized to mark the 150 th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the legendary Freedom Fighter and Tribal Leader. In the event students gave speeches and held discussions on the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College Dr. Rajinder Singh advised students to learn more about freedom fighters and to take inspiration from their lives. He stressed that Shri Birsa Munda laid down his life at an early age for the freedom of the country, and said that students should take a pledge to serve the nation in all their endeavours.
The whole event was coordinated and managed by Dr. Deepshikha Sharma, Dr. Sunal Sharma, Dr. Deepak Pathania and Prof. Shaji Khan.
Other faculty members present on the occasion included Dr. Reena Rani, Prof. Rekha Gupta, Prof. Binny Kumar, Dr. Madhu Bala, Dr. Roomi Rani, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Prof. Esha Abrol, Dr. Neeru Anand, Dr. Mamta, Prof. Sabia and others.
