KVK imparts Training on Organic Vegetables Production

REASI, Nov 27: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) imparted training on "Organic vegetables production" here at Kheral village in Pouni block of Reasi district of J&K.
The programme was enthusiastically attended by a number of farmers of the area. The programme was organised under the dynamic leadership of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.BN Tripathi and able guidance of Director Extension, Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. Dr.Banarsi Lal,Chief Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi warmly welcomed the participants and guided them on organic vegetables production technologies for higher profitability and sustainable production.
He lucidly explained the use of organic inputs required in the organic vegetables production and highlighted the advantages of organic vegetables production. He demonstrated the technique on organic vegetables nursery production and encouraged the participants for the commercial organic vegetables by which they can fetch more returns and generate employment. He discussed on on-farm resource management and gave a detailed view about the preparation of organic formulations such as Jeevamrit, Beejamrit, cow urine, Neemastra etc. by using the locally available inputs.
