Kargil, Apr 2: Peoples of Ladakh region have got the much needed respite with summer snow clearance on Kargil Zojilla pass opening.
The summer snow clearance which was under taken by 93 RCC, 762 BRTF Task force under Project Himank had begun summer snow clearance on from 22nd of Feburary to bring ease to the people living in Ladhak region whose life line is this route. These people are totally cut off from srinagar for almost six months. This year there have been heavy snow fall almost after fifteen years was learned through Major Sanjay Ghule, OC 93 RCC Who further mentioned that this had caused little hindrance in the work but appreciating the effort of his team workers he said that the faith he had in his team kept the spirit alive and they finished the task work on scheduled time.
Mohd Javed akhtar(AAE, Civil) and Mr Chand ( AE Civil) who witnessed the work on ground mentioned that there was heavy snowfall which was riised to 50 feet and the dozer drivers an snow cutters had to make way out through the tunnels of snow.
Recently the CEC Kargil had also paid visit to this axis and had appreciated the people concerned for their hard work and dedication.
