World AIDS Day celebrated at maternity hospital Gandhinagar

Jammu, Dec 1: World AIDS Day was commemorated at Maternity Hospital Gandhinagar, Government Medical College Jammu, in collaboration with Bee Enn College for Nursing (BECON) and Bee Enn Nursing Institute (BNNI). The event highlighted the importance of awareness and education about HIV/AIDS.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Verma, President of the Young Blood Organization, along with Dr. Arun Sharma, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, graced the occasion. Other dignitaries included Mr. Tazender Singh Premi (Chief Advisor, Young Blood Organization), Raj Kumar (CD President, New Young Blood), Mr. Anil Kumar (General Secretary, New Young Blood), and Mr. Arjash Raina (Advisor, New Young Blood). The program was attended by hospital staff, student nurses, and tutors.
The event began with a song performed by students, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Fajjar Hassan. Panelists Ms. Kifayat Gul, Ms. Bazila Hamid, Ms. Mehak Ali, Ms. Himanshi Sharma, Mr. Hardik Krishan, Mr. Mir Arfat, and Mr. Imran Bashir discussed various aspects of HIV/AIDS. The informative session concluded with the presentation of mementos to the guests and certificates to participating students.
A creative rangoli by Ms. Jyoti, a student, received appreciation from all attendees. The program also featured a nukkad natak performed outside the hospital, highlighting HIV/AIDS awareness for the public. Participants included Aroosha Nazeer, Alliya Bano, Anchal Devi, Chesfeeda, Gazala Bashir, Govsia Maqbool, Insha Hamid, Insha Rashid, Jyoti, Mehnaza Hassan, and Mehek Nisar.
Arrangements for the event were managed by staff and students, including Mr. Shagun Thapa, Ms. Heena Shafi, Ms. Bisma Hassan, Ms. Basira Gulzar, Mr. Imtiyaz, Mr. Anish, Mr. Iflaq, and Mr. Athar.
The event concluded with refreshments sponsored by the Young Blood Organization. The program was lauded for its efforts in spreading awareness and educating the community about HIV/AIDS.
