| Vipin fighting life and death battle, curses state govt. officials | | Depressed parents seek CM’s intervention | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 3- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has been urged to intervene personally to save the life of Vipul Koul, a Kashmiri migrant, who is suffering from many life threatening diseases and is under treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi since August 1999. In a renewed appeal made to Chief Minister the despaired parents of child have requested the CM to have the matter looked into by some honest officers who may not charge any bill for the same. Vipul Koul was again operated upon 6th time in January 2008 at the institute but the problem remained as it was the parents of patient could not effort costly nature of life saving drugs. Ashok Koul father of the hapless child met the former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah who assured him all possible help and advised him to see the CM and the Finance Minister for the purpose. ’The concerned officials were not allowing me to meet them and are sending me here and there"', said Koul as they fear that truth will come out and the CM shall not spare them for the crime’ Surprisingly, Director Stores and Procurement Department, Jammu where the patients is presently attached as migrant has not cleared any bill since 2002, even indoor bills when the patient was admitted and operated in February 2008 at AIIMS on the plea that the Government has ordered them not to settle any claim even if the same is within the rules," alleged Ashok Koul. He cited several instances where the government employees suffering from such diseases have been paid the amount incurred by them on the treatment. He said that despite several pleas in the past the amount incurred on the treatment of Vipin have not been reimbursed as a result of which he son is getting proper treatment and costly medicines being prescribed by the doctors attending on him and is fighting a life and death battle in absence of required finance, Kaul said and appealed the CM to get his reimbursement case settled at the earliest.
