Botanical trip to Panchari organizes by GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Dec 1: Department of Botany Government College for Women(GCW) Udhampur organised a Botanical trip to Panchari with the aim to explore the rich diversity of the area .
More than 50 students of B.sc sem 3rd and sem 5th accompanied the trip. The trip was initiated with permission of the Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania . Prof. Indu Khajuria HoD Chemistry waved a flag to begin the journey.
Prof. Anita Gupta, Head Department of Botany explained the purpose of organising such trips. She emphasized the educational value and opportunity for students to learn outside the classroom.
Dr. Yash Paul Singh on spot awared the students about the traditional uses of various plants growing in that locality. Dr. Kiran Parasher and Dr. Shagufta Rashid also accompanied the trip and guided the students.
Non teaching staff Mr. Ram Krishan Lab. Bearer and Mr Jeet Lal gardener helped the students in collecting the material.
