GDC Neeli Nallah holds seminar on traffic awareness

UDHAMPUR, Dec 1: As a part of ongoing efforts to promote road safety, Government Degree College Neeli Nallah, Udhampur in collaboration with IQAC of the college, organized a seminar on “Traffic Awareness Programme” today on 28th of November, 2024 under the able guidance of Principal of the college Prof. Dr. Seema Arora. The program aimed at educating the stake holders about the importance of road habits.
The seminar commenced with an introduction by the NSS Program Officer, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen at seminar hall of the college. She welcomed the participants and explained the objectives of the seminar, emphasizing the role of the Traffic Awareness in spreading awareness about critical societal issues.
Several NSS volunteers and students presented speeches on traffic awareness. Ms. Priya Devi of Semester 3rd, Ms. Sheetal Sharma of Semester 5th and Mr. Ramneek Sharma of Semester 3rd got 1st first position, 2nd Position and 3rd Position respectively. The seminar was adjudged by Dr. Akhter Hussain, Dr. Mubariq Mahire and Ms. Neha Devi.
The Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, delivered a motivating address to the students. She appreciated the efforts of the NSS department and students in organizing the seminar. She highlighted real-life examples of the consequences of traffic violations and encouraged everyone to be vigilant and disciplined road users. She also encouraged the faculty members of college to educate students on the importance of adhering to traffic rules and fostering a culture of road safety.
The whole event was a simple yet effective initiative by the NSS department. It successfully created awareness about traffic rules and inspired students to adopt safe practices as responsible citizens.
In the end she appreciated the staff members for conducting the event. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by the NSS PO.
She expressed gratitude to the principal, faculty members, and students for their active participation and enthusiasm. "Inspired by the success of the Traffic Awareness Program, our college ‘Government Degree College Neeli Nallah’ remains committed to fostering responsible citizenship and ensuring that the lessons learned today pave the way for safer roads and a brighter tomorrow."
