Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 3- Expressing strong resentment over CBI’s clean-chit to Jagdish Tytler, the accused of 1984 riots, the state BJP questioned ‘if Jagdish Tytler is not involved in 1984 riots then who is responsible for killing of innocent Sikhs’.
Talking to the media persons here today, state president and MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria said that Congress is misusing the government machinery and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has become ‘Congress Bureau of Investigation’ as it has been totally misused by the Congress, particularly UPA government at the centre.
"The CBI’s clean-chit to accused of 1984 riots Jagdish Tytler is a sheer mockery and injustice with the victims of 1984 riots", Khajuria said while questioning ‘after 25 years when accused got the clean-chit then Government and CBI must tell the people who is culprit of killing of innocent Sikhs".
Alleging sheer violation of Model Code of Conduct by the Congress, the BJP state president urged the Election Commission of India to immediately intervene and check the gross violation of Model Code of Conduct to ensure free and fair polls.
At the same time, he asked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to maintain the credibility of government, play fair role to ensure free and fair Lok Sabha elections in the state.
Alleging that Consumer Affairs (CAPD) department has turned into Corrupt Affairs Department, Khajuria said that in Jammu city Kerosene Oil and ration items are openly black-marketed. ‘Even this department is hell bent upon to discriminate Jammu as 13 kg ration has been distributed per head in Kashmir valley while in Jammu only 8 kg has been distributed. He also criticized Government for not extending the exemption period of VAT on rice, sugar and pulses which ended on March 31.
The MLA demanded immediate disbanding of Custodian Department and grant of ownership rights to the people living in Custodian property for last many decades.
‘It is sheer injustice, Government is much worried about those who had migrated to Pakistan thus constituted Custodian department but those who are living in custodian property from past many years still has not provided with ownership rights’, Khajuria said.
However, he welcomed the statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for opposing National Security Act (NSA) on young BJP leader Varun Gandhi by saying that Varun’s speech cannot threaten national security as India is much stronger nation.
To question about any alliance with regional parties in Lok Sabha elections, he said BJP will never have alliance with conditional political parties at all.
Commenting on Lok Sabha election in J&K, the president appealed the nationalist people of Jammu to unite and vote for nationalist cause by voting in favour of BJP.
