JAMMU, Dec 2: In a significant success under Operation Sanjeevani, the Miran Sahib Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 3 grams of heroin (chitta) from his possession. The arrest was made during routine patrolling near Bagh-e-Bhour Park, Indira Nagar, when the alert police team noticed a suspicious pedestrian attempting to avoid a routine check. The individual, later identified as Mohd. Shafi, a resident of Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib, was detained for questioning. A subsequent search revealed the heroin-like substance on him. An FIR No. 118/2024 under the NDPS Act was registered against Shafi, and investigations are underway to trace potential links to larger drug networks. Jammu Police continues its relentless efforts to curb drug trafficking and abuse, urging the public to report any suspicious activities to help in eradicating this social menace. |
