Drug peddler arrested, heroin seized by Bakshi Nagar Police

JAMMU, Dec 2: Bakshi Nagar police with a clear stance of zero tolerance to Drugs abuse today arrested another drug peddler Karamjeet Singh @ Chamkor S/O Manjeet Singh R/O Indra Nagar Miran Sahab Jammu when the suspected Maruti Ciaz with Delhi based no. DL 6CQ 2534 without HSR number was intercepted at Bakshi Nagar. Karamjeet @ Chamkor tried to run away leaving his car behind. Active police party at the Nakka apprehended him and during search 8 gm Heroin/Chitta was found from his possession.
On further enquiry, it came to fore that the said accused is selling narcotics from last many years for undue profit generation in the local area. In this regard FIR No. 160/2024 stand registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation is in full swing.
Accused Karamjeet @Chamkor is selling drugs to innocent youth of the area for gaining undue profits from sale of narcotics and are responsible for overdose death due to drugs happening in the area. These peddlers have become nightmare for the parents of the vulnerable children who are out of their home either for tuitions or in hostels in Jammu.
Pertinent to mention here that this is 4th FIR in last 15 days after the launch of Zero Tolerance policy against drug peddlers by SDPO City West Jammu Dr Satish Bhardwaj JKPS and SHO Bakshi Nagar Sajid Mughal and SHO Janipur Pawan Dogra and their team.
On 06.11.2024 and 12.11.24 respectively two police Selection grade constable Perwaiz Iqbal S/O Mohd Ashraf R/O Gujjar Mohalla Janipur and Mohd Mukhtiyar S/O Shah Mohd R/O BeliCharana were arrested along with other accused and 33 grams and 15 grams of Heroin was recovered from their possession in case FIR no. 128/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29/27A NDPS Act of PS Janipur and FIR 155/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act respectively.
SDPO City West and SP City North and SSP Jammu are personally supervising the investigation to dug out the backward and forward linkages of these Drug peddlers to dismantle the whole ecosystem of Drug menace developed by the Drug Syndicates of the area. Their financial investigation is also going on to know about the property acquired by these Black Sheep and to further attach their illegitimate property which is proceed of narcotics.
SgCt Mohd Mukhtiyar, SgCt. Parwaiz Khan's and Amit Gupta arrested earlier and now Karamjeet Singh@ Chamkor's arrest has proved that police is duty bound to save the innocent youth of this country from the menace of drug abuse with zero tolerance to peddlers who are doing this immoral trade which has resulted in many youth's death due to overdose leading to genetic death of families.
Police's swift action and apprehension of these black sheep has been appreciated by public Sub-Division City west has warned all the drug peddlers to abstain from this immoral trade and mend their ways otherwise they will be put behind bars very soon.
