Former MLA Ch Piara Singh passes away

JAMMU, Dec 2: Ch. Piara Singh, a prominent political and social figure, and the father of BJP MLA from Bahu Constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, passed away on Monday afternoon, leaving a profound void in the region. A former MLA representing the Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment from 1996 to 2002, Ch. Piara Singh was deeply respected for his unwavering dedication to public service and his remarkable contributions to the welfare of the community.
For 37 years, he served as the President of the J&K Jat Sabha, championing the cause of his community with steadfast commitment. His leadership extended beyond politics, as he also held the position of President of the All J&K Motor Transport Association for 10 years and the All J&K Motors Financier Association for 15 years, showcasing his vision for progress and unity in various sectors.
Ch. Piara Singh's demise has plunged the region into mourning, with family members, friends, and political colleagues expressing their heartfelt condolences. Remembered as a dedicated public servant and a pillar of strength for his family, he leaves behind his wife, Surjeet Kaur, daughter Sunaina Choudhary, and three sons, Ch. Kamal Randhawa, Ch. Vikram Randhawa (MLA Bahu Constituency), and Ch. Paramjeet Singh (Bunty).
The cremation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the Shastri Nagar Cremation Ground. His legacy of service and leadership will continue to inspire generations to come.
