MLA Sham Lal Sharma reviews development projects

JAMMU, Dec 2: Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North, conducted a comprehensive tour of Wards 34, 35, 36, 37, and 64 to monitor ongoing development projects and address public grievances. Accompanied by local leaders, ex-corporators, and senior officials from the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), the visit aimed to ensure the proper utilization of development funds allocated for the wards.
Shri Sharma was joined by Shri Ravish Mengi, Mandal President (Janipur), and Ex-Corporators from the respective wards: Rani Devi (Ward 34), Shri Yashpal Sharma (Ward 35), Shri Subash Sharma (Ward 36), Smt. Sunita Gupta (Ward 37), and Shri Kapil Chib (Ward 64). Senior JMC officials, including Shri Nawaz Ahmed Banday (XEN JMC), Shri Afzal Ahmed Wani (AEE), and JEs Shri Ranjan Sharma and Shri Amit Verma, provided updates on the status of various projects and financial allocations.
The financial details for development work in the wards were as follows:
Ward 34: Rs 103.08 lakhs (Rs 63 lakhs City Grant + Rs 40.08 lakhs Financial Assistance)
Ward 35: Rs 97.48 lakhs (Rs 60 lakhs City Grant + Rs 37.48 lakhs Financial Assistance)
Ward 36: Rs 95.47 lakhs (Rs 60 lakhs City Grant + Rs 35.47 lakhs Financial Assistance)
Ward 37: Rs 104.06 lakhs (Rs 60.06 lakhs City Grant + Rs 44 lakhs Financial Assistance)
Ward 64: Rs 71 lakhs (Cost of Work)
During the visit, Shri Sharma emphasized the need for the judicious use of funds, urging officials to maintain high-quality standards and complete the projects on time. He stressed the importance of addressing public concerns promptly and holding officials accountable for any delays.
Engaging with residents, the MLA listened to their concerns and assured them of swift action. He directed municipal officers to implement a robust grievance redressal mechanism for efficient resolution of issues and ensure that all complaints are addressed in a timely manner.
Shri Sham Lal Sharma also highlighted the importance of transparency and communication between the public and officials. He called for active participation from residents in monitoring the progress of development works to ensure that they meet the needs of the community.
Reaffirming his commitment to the development of Jammu North, Shri Sharma assured that all wards will receive equal attention, with a focus on improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for citizens. He promised to continue working tirelessly to address the issues and ensure the prosperity of the constituency.
