| Orientation training course on fertilizer concludes | | | Srinagar, September 22 – Two-day Orientation Training Course on Fertilizer Quality Control which was inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir Mr. Ghulam Hyder Bhat concluded here today. Training course were organized by the Joint Director of Agriculture Extension Kashmir division in collaboration with central fertilizer quality control and training institute Faridabad. Speaking on the occasion, the Director stressed for maintaining quality control of fertilizer to boost crop production and added that greater awareness need to be created among the farmers about the balanced dose of fertilizers and importance of soil health for monitoring soil nutrients status. Director Law Enforcement Mrs. Vinod Bala Sharma cautioned that anybody found indulging selling spurious fertilizers would be dealt with under Fertilizer Control Order. She said that during current year 240 samples of various kinds of fertilizers were drawn out of which 05 were found substandard. Mrs Bala said that now bio-fertilizers organic are coming under fertilizer control order so that quality of these products should be maintained. Deputy Director Central Fertilizer Quality Control and Training Institute Faridabad Mr. Shukla speaking on the occasion said that fertilizer is one of the most important input for increasing Agriculture production. Keeping in view of its importance it was declared as essential commodity under Essential Commodities Act 1956. He said central government has fixed MRP for all fertilizers and also fixed different rates for fertilizer for having different storage period for different areas. District Agriculture Officers, Sub-Divisional Agriculture officers Enforcement Inspector of Kashmir division also participated in the programme. |
