VC CLUJ visits SPMR College

Jammu, Dec 3: The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Chandrasekar made his maiden visit to SPMR College, marking an important moment for both the University and the institution. Prof. Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ was also present on the occasion. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder Singh formally welcomed the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and briefed the faculty of his exemplary achievements in the field of research and academic excellence. He praised the Hon’ble Vice chancellor as a visionary leader whose approach to higher education is truly inspiring. He said that his commitment to academic excellence and his dedication to fostering global cooperation in research and learning were evident during his visit to our campus. He pointed out that the college was honored to welcome Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Chandrasekar in the college.
Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Chandrasekar engaged the college faculty, staff and students to better understand the academic environment, infrastructure and the specific needs of the institution. He reviewed various departments and interacted with faculty by taking note of strengths and areas for potential development of the institution. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of MOUs and research initiatives in colleges to enhance the overall quality of education and student engagement. Faculty members and students expressed their enthusiasm for the Vice Chancellor’s visit, viewing it as an opportunity to further align SPMR College with the broader goals of Cluster University. He assured the faculty of the University’s support in addressing their concerns and elaborated the need for continuous professional development to keep pace with the evolving educational landscape.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor made a tour of SPMR College’s state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms, research labs, and other infrastructure. He also visited the under construction sites of two upcoming development projects.
A power point presentation was also presented during the programme by Shaji Khan, Assistant Professor in English, showcasing overview of academic and co-curricular functioning of the college along with achievements in various fields. Prof. Pawan Gupta, HOD Department of Commerce presented formal Vote of thanks while the event was compered by Prof. Ashu Manhas HOD Department of English.
