GDC Darhal observes World AIDS Day

DARHAL, Dec 3: The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal organized a comprehensive awareness program on World AIDS Day to educate students and faculty about the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Taseem Ahmed delivered a detailed lecture on the global and national landscape of HIV/AIDS. He emphasized alarming infection statistics and highlighted the efforts of international organizations and the Government of India in combating the epidemic through education, healthcare, and policy advocacy.
Dr. Mohd Akhlaq focused on the vulnerability of women and girls to HIV/AIDS, shedding light on gender disparities in healthcare access, education, and social stigma. He stressed the importance of targeted initiatives to empower women and provide them with the necessary resources for prevention and support.
The event underscored the theme "Take the Right Path: My Health, My Right", promoting the right to health education, preventive measures, and treatment for all individuals.
A large number of students and staff members actively participated in the program. The event featured prominent faculty members, including Prof. Anzar Ahmed, Dr. Shahid Nabi Dar, Dr. Mohd Shakeel Kataria, Prof. Iqbal Ahmed, Prof. Sumina Begum, Prof. Rahul Sangra, Dr. Mohd Sagir, Dr. Atta ul Rehman, and Dr. Muzamil.
Through such initiatives, GDC Darhal reinforces its commitment to fostering awareness, reducing stigma, and advocating for a healthier, informed society.
