Kavi Durbar dedicated to Amar Singh Kuka organized

JAMMU, Dec 3: A Punjabi Kavi Durbar organized a Punjabi Kavi Durbart dedicated to Late Amar Singh Kuka, a Ghazal writer at his residence. Renowned Ghazal writer S. Ajit Singh Mastana presided over the Kavi Durbar whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary, JKAACL was the chief guest in the programme. S. Mohinder Singh, a senior member of the family and S.Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza of JKAACL also shared the dais.
Prominent Punjabi poets of Jammu & Kashmir presented their poems generally dedicated to S. Amar Singh Kuka. The writers who presented their poetry included Manjeet Singh Kaamra, Balkar Singh, Jang S. Verman, Harjit Singh Kuka, Dr. Baljit Singh Raina, Dr. Monojit, Suraj Rattan, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik and Ajit Singh Mastana.
Dr. Monojit and Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik shared their views on the life, contribution and work of Late S. Amar Singh Kuka.S. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrk suggested that one function should be held every year to commemorate the contribution of writers and poets of Punjabi in J&K.
In his presidential address S. Ajit Singh Mastana put light on the life, his life style and his visionary thinking of Late Amar Sing Kuka. He said that his views were lofty and pure and he was polite and pragmatic in his behavior and dealing with the others. He also appreciated the role of Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) is doing appreciable work to promote, preserve and promote different languages and literature of the region. He appreciated the programmes designed by Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi & I/C programme, for commemorating the poets and writers who are not with us now.
In his address, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that it's a great step that such type of programmes being organized in the memory of the renowned poets and writers. He said that such events should be held at their houses during their life time which would be a real tribute to the senior writers and poets.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi. He also shared his views on the activities conducted by Cultural Academy. Vote of thanks was extended by Pritpal Songh s/o Amar Singh Kuka.
