Bakshi Nagar Police arrest another drug peddler couple

Jammu, Dec 3: Police arrested yet another drug peddler couple here on Tuesday.
According to the details available with Early Times on a tip off a police team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Bakshi Nagar and I/C PP Sarwal under the supervision of SDPO City West raided the house of drug peddlers Vikas Mani son of Surinder Mani and his wife Tanu Mehra at Rajpura Mangotrian, Shakti Nagar.
“During raid police party recovered 8.5 grams of Heroin like substance from the possession of Vikas Mani and his wife Tanu Mehra. Beside this cash worth Rs.25000/- , electronic weighing machine, foil paper and other suspected items from their house,” an official said.
He said, “ On further enquiry, it came to fore that the said accused is selling narcotics from the last many years for undue profit generation in the local area.”
In this regard, he said, FIR No. 162/2024 stands registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation is in full swing.
“Already two FIRs under NDPS Act stand registered at police station Bakshi Nagar and this one is third. Vikas Mani and his wife both are chronic peddlers and have ruined many families in the area by causing addiction to their children,” the official said.

gs to innocent youth of the area for gaining undue profits from sale of narcotics and are responsible for overdose deaths due to drugs happening in the area. These peddlers have become a nightmare for the parents of the vulnerable children who are out of their homes either for tuitions or in hostels in Jammu,” he added.
Pertinent to mention here that this is 5th FIR in last 15 days after the launch of Zero Tolerance policy against drug peddlers by SDPO City West Jammu Dr Satish Bhardwaj JKPS, SHO Bakshi Nagar Sajid Mughal, SHO Janipur Pawan Dogra and I/C PP Sarwal Maan Singh and their team.
The SDPO City West, SP City North and SSP Jammu are personally supervising the investigation to dug out the backward and forward linkages of these drug peddlers to dismantle the whole ecosystem of drug menace developed by the drug syndicates of the area.
Their financial investigation is also going on to know about the property acquired by these black sheep and to further attach their illegitimate property which is proceeds of narcotics.
Police’s swift action and apprehension of these black sheep has been appreciated by the public.
Police have warned all the drug peddlers to abstain from this immoral trade and mend their ways otherwise they will be put behind bars very soon.
