AKHNOOR, Dec 3: In a heartwarming event organised by the All Jammu and Kashmir Disabled Welfare Trust on the occasion of World Disability Day, Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North and former minister, along with Shri Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Akhnoor, where Chief Guest's on the occasion . The event took place at Akhnoor and brought together a host of dignitaries and inspiring participants.
The event underscored the importance of creating an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities are empowered to thrive. Participants showcased their talents and enthusiasm, serving as a powerful reminder of the incredible potential within the differently-abled community.
A memorandum of demands, highlighting the key issues faced by the differently-abled community, was formally submitted to Sham Lal Sharma and Mohan Lal Bhagat during the event. The memorandum outlined urgent needs for enhanced facilities, better accessibility, and additional government support. Both leaders assured the gathering that the demands would be conveyed to the administration and government for early redressal and follow-up action.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said, "Today's program is a testament to the unyielding spirit of individuals with disabilities. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that inclusivity and equal opportunities become a reality for all. I commend the All Jammu and Kashmir Disabled Welfare Trust and its Chairman Shri Sushil Sharma Ji for their exemplary work."
Sham Lal Sharma also emphasized the need for policy reforms and better accessibility infrastructure to support the differently-abled community in Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the role of government agencies, local organizations, and society in providing opportunities and breaking down barriers for individuals with disabilities. "Together, we must ensure that every person, regardless of their abilities, is given the tools to succeed and lead fulfilling lives," he added.
Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Akhnoor, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all those working to uplift the disabled community. He stressed the need for continuous support from the government and society to ensure that individuals with disabilities have access to the resources and opportunities they deserve.
Sushil Sharma , Chairman of the Disabled Welfare Trust, reiterated his commitment to improving the lives of the differently-abled and assured that the Trust would continue to work towards facilitating a more inclusive society. His words resonated with all those present, inspiring everyone to play an active role in creating positive change.
The program showcased the tireless efforts of Sushil Sharma, Chairman of the Trust, whose dedication to supporting the differently-abled community has been instrumental in driving change.
