CB arrests notorious cheaters

Jammu, Dec 4: Crime Branch (CB) has arrested three accused including two notorious cheaters, Jameel Anjum (a suspended Govt Teacher) of Narania Mohalla, Jammu and Saroop Lal (an Ex -serviceman) of Bishnah/Bari Brahmana against whom several cases of cheating, forgery and frauds are registered and produced three separate challans in the courts of law in Jammu and Kathua.
As many as 9 FIRs & 1 PV are registered against habitual offender Jameel Anjum S/o Nasir Ahmad of Narania Mohalla Jammu with Crime Branch and District Police Jammu, whereas 10 FIRs and 2 PVs are registered with CB and district Police Jammu against another top habitual offender Saroop Lal S/o Manga Ram R/O Allah, Bishnah A/P H.No.70, Ward No.04, Rajiv Colony Bari Brahmana district Samba, who also remained detained under PSA. The third accused arrested in separate case has been identified as Arvinder Singh of Jammu .
While notorious accused Jameel Anjum who is a suspended government teacher has been arrested after allegations of duping complainant Karan Singh R/O Rani Park Jammu of Rs. 28.20 lakhs on the pretext of providing Govt Job was proved against him, notorious accused Saroop Lal was arrested after allegations of duping complainant Ram Paul R/O Kathua of Rs. 5 lakhs on the pretext of providing Govt job. Third accused Arvinder Singh was arrested after allegations of preparing false PRC and procuring land by fraudulent means were proved against him and others including revenue officials.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu, Benam Tosh confirmed that challans of case FIR No. 70/2023 U/S 420, 465, 468, 471 IPC against Jameel Anjum, Case FIR No. 22/2024 U/S 420 RPC against Saroop Lal and case FIR No. 50/2015 U/S 420, 465, 471, 120-B RPC have been produced in the Courts of law in Jammu and Kathua following arrests of three accused.
