| Tarigami flay’s CA & PD over poor performance | | |

Jammu, Apr 3: Expressing displeasure over the poor public distribution system (PDS) in the state, CPI (M) state secretary and MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has said that the genuine rationees of the state registered with the CA and PD department were suffering for want of ration. The cause is embezzlements of BPL ration to open market, artificial scarcity, distribution of ration shown in favour of pseudo card holders and other frauds committed by the CA and PD officers and officials who remain hand in glove with the black marketers and hoarders, he added.
Referring to Marwah Wardwan and Billawar CA and PD scams he said that similar scams have also been unearthed in the state CA and PD department earlier but the reports sought from the enquiry committees constituted to look into these are still awaited.
He said a lenient view towards the fraudulent and negligent officers and officials of CA and PD department being in habit of committing bungling and deceits remain Scot free by manipulations and patronage on the part of higher ups.
The CPI (M) state secretary demanded a detailed and time frame probe into all embezzlements and bungling committed in CA and PD department and urged the government to take effective measures to streamline the PDS in the state. He also urged for making the CA and PD department responsive and consumer friendly.
Tarigami also demanded for effective implementation of the government order for restoration of 13 kg ration per head per family norms.
